The former CEO of the IWK children’s hospital in Halifax has been sentenced to jail time.

The province’s prosecution service tells Acadia News that Tracey Kitch was handed the sentence, Wednesday, in Halifax Provincial Court.

She was also sentenced to 24 months of probation.

Kitch was first convicted in 2022 for fraud over $5,000 after charging $47,000 worth of personal expenses to a corporate credit card in 2018.

She was sentenced to five months in jail but was released on bail, pending an appeal-which was successful- and a new trial that was ordered.

The retrial started last year.

Kitch was appointed CEO in 2014.
