Investigation underway after second body found in Moncton

An investigation is underway after another body was found in Moncton, the second in a week.

Codiac RCMP Sergeant Sebastien Decaens confirmed to our newsroom it was discovered late Tuesday night.

He wouldn’t provide an exact location, but reports to our newsroom indicated there was a large police presence in the Wheeler Boulevard and Worthington Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Decaens didn’t release any further details about the investigation.

Officers also spent part of the September long weekend investigating after a body was found in Moncton’s west end.

RCMP Superintendent Benoit Jolette told the City Council that human remains were found in a wooded area near Westmount Boulevard. .

An autopsy was conducted on September 3rd,  but they were unable to pinpoint the cause of death.

Jolette adds they are still trying to identify the individual.
