The federal and provincial governments have announced the 16 people who have been appointed to ensure the Mass Casualty Commission’s findings are addressed.

Former justice Linda Oland was appointed Founding Chair of the Progress Monitoring Committee last spring following the commission’s final report on the 2020 mass killings in Nova Scotia.

According to a release, Oland has spoken to victims’ families, communities, policing associations, support sectors, and other organizations to create the PMC.

Seven people who lost family members on that tragic weekend are among the appointments.

Nova Scotia Attorney General and Justice Minister Brad Johns says this committee will play an important role in ensuring we learn from the past and take meaningful action for the future.
