A special agreement has been signed between the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and the Ontario Native Women’s Association.

The memorandum of understanding according to Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association president Wendy Landry will help both AMO and ONWA work on many of the issues both organizations are trying to deal with.

“Its definitely a positive to work towards reconciliation and work together on issues that ONWA is doing a great job of right now, and their ability to collaborate and communicate and work together on some of those challenges is fantastic.

Landry says the MoU will be extremely beneficial for ONWA and municipalities here in the Northwest.

The document was signed during the AMO conference last week in London.
