A North Sydney man was assaulted earlier this week while three people tried to rob him in his home.
Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a call for assistance at a home on Pierce Street at roughly 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday. They found four people i the home who were all known to each other, one of them was hurt and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers determined that the other three, a 45-year-old woman, a 42-year-old man, and a 40-year-old man, had assaulted the injured man while they were trying to rob him. All three were arrested and have been charged with a handful of offences including assault causing bodily harm, robbery, and several breaches of previous court-ordered conditions.
The 42-year-old man is also charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and uttering a threat.
All three of them are scheduled to appear in provincial court.
