A new interchange for on Highway 104 in Broadway, Pictou County between exits 27 and 29.
The $9 million project will become exit 28 in the middle of the 20km stretch, with an eastbound exit ramp and a westbound entrance ramp.
It will make travel easier for local residents, better access for emergency crews and reduce traffic for people living on Trunk 4.
“This is good news for people living in and around the Broadway area,” said Kim Masland, Minister of Public Works. “The Highway 104 twinning project has been a tremendous success and the addition of this interchange only builds on our work to improve safety along this important trade corridor.”
Construction is expected to begin early this fall and to be completed next summer.
The project is in addition to the twinning of Highway 104 between Sutherlands River and Antigonish.
Dexter Nova Alliance, the Province’s partner on the Highway 104 twinning project, is leading the interchange project.
