The Ministry of Transportation says a closed section of Highway 602 in Alberton Township should reopen later this fall.

Work crews are replacing the Rainy River Tributary Bridge.

It was shut down last September after concerns with its structural integrity.

The MTO says a new culvert is replacing the bridge.

A spokesperson tells 93.1 The Border that the work won’t be completed until next summer, but there are plans to reopen the area to traffic this year.

The work is being done by PNI Construction.

Crews started the work in mid-August.
