Another rainfall warning.
Environment Canada is now calling for between 40 to 80mm of rain tonight and Wednesday for the entire province.
Meteorologist Bob Robichaud said between June and mid-August in Halifax last year, 250 millimetres of rain fell.
“This year, over the same timeframe, we have received over 700mm, so quite the contrast to what we saw last year,” Robichaud said.
This system could have combined moisture from Hurricane Franklin, which is expected to pass well south of the province.
Environment Canada said rain embedded with thunderstorms could start overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
The forecaster says there is still uncertainty with this system.
Heavy downpours can cause flash flooding and pooling on roads as well as localized flooding.
