The splash park in Fort Frances is not yet ready to use.

The committee overseeing the project at Legion Park was hoping the project would be ready this weekend.

However, the town says there is still some plumbing work that needs to be finished.

“Waterplay is scheduled to be in town for mid-next week to commission the pad. So, at this point it is not operational. We are evaluating the possibility of a soft opening for the long weekend, but we need to be sure that the park is safe,” says Interim Chief Administrative Officer Travis Rob in an email to 93.1 The Border.

Crews were on site earlier in August to install the splash park’s components.

An official opening is still planned for next spring.
