An investigation by city police into the death of a 90 year old man has resulted in manslaughter charges against a Thunder Bay woman.

On May 20th paramedics with Superior North EMS responded to a south side home to reports the man had fallen, where he was taken to hospital but died on June 13th.

A post mortem examination determined the death was as the result of the injuries sustained in the fall.

This brought in the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit, where investigators learned of allegations of foul play, specifically the victim had been pushed down a flight of stairs.

A 63 year old woman, who was known to the victim, was identified, charged with one count of manslaughter, and taken into custody on August 2nd.

She has since been remanded into custody following a Wednesday court appearance.
