Arrest Made in Halifax stabbing

Halifax Regional Police have taken significant steps in the ongoing investigation of an assault that transpired yesterday, resulting in charges being laid against a 30-year-old Halifax resident.

The incident unfolded around 6:20 a.m. on Monday when law enforcement officers swiftly responded to a distress call concerning an injured individual at a residence on Hilden Drive. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a man who had sustained stab wounds. Swift action was taken to ensure the victim’s safety, and he was promptly transported to a local medical facility for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.

The authorities apprehended the suspected assailant, who was familiar to the victim.

The suspect was taken into custody at the site of the incident, enabling the police to secure potential evidence.

The individual in custody, a 30-year-old Halifax resident, is now facing a series of charges linked to the incident. Scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today, the individual is expected to answer for the following charges:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
  • Fail to comply with conditions of a release order (x4)
