A New Brunswick man is dead following a car accident in Grand Desert, Nova Scotia early this morning.
The 76-year-old man from Hanwell, a community just outside of Fredericton, was travelling alone in a GMC Sierra on Highway 207 when the vehicle left the road and ended up in the ditch. Halifax district RCMP, fire, and EHS arrived at the scene at around 3:10 a.m. They found the vehicle in the ditch near the intersection of Grand Desert Station Road and Highway 207.
The man was transported to the nearest hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Nova Scotia RCMP is working with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death. A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and Highway 207 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
The RCMP say an investigation is still ongoing.
