A New Brunswick police officer continues to make a name for himself on the international stage.

Detective Const. James Smith won seven medals at the 2023 World Police and Fire Games, which were held in Winnipeg from July 28 to August 6.

The Saint John Police Force officer took home six gold medals and one bronze medal in large and small-bore shooting.

“James has become well-known internationally for large and small-bore shooting,” the police force said in a news release.

Smith won two gold medals, three silver medals and one bronze medal at the same event in 2022.
