By Tara Clow Aug 16, 2023 | 1:22 PM

Residents in the City of Dieppe can now begin drinking their water without boiling it.

A boil water order has now been lifted for all residents from 2135 and 2152 Amirault Street to city limits, Dover Road, Domaine Dover Estates, Bayview Street and the following streets:

  • Marco
  • Freda
  • Kristian
  • J.F. Bourgeois
  • V├ęzina
  • Raphael
  • Joanne
  • Carter

Residents should take these steps now that the order has been lifted:

  • Cold interior and exterior water faucets: Run tap water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Hot water faucets: Run tap water for at least 15 minutes for a 40-gallon hot water tank and at least 30 minutes for an 80-gallon hot water tank or larger.
  • Water dispensers from refrigerators should be flushed with at least one litre of water before consumption.
  • After flushing the hot and cold water pipes, run the dishwasher empty one time.
  • Discard any water used in humidifiers and rinse the device with clean water.
  • Automatic ice dispensers should be emptied of ice made during the boil water order. Then, discard any ice made over an additional 24-hour period to assure that any potentially contaminated water has been discarded.

If you notice a lack of water pressure or discoloured water, please call 506-877-7990 or 506-850.5104 (after business hours).

The boil water order was issued on Monday after a water main break on Amirault Street.
