Boil water order affecting parts of Dieppe

By Brad Perry Aug 14, 2023 | 3:03 PM

Some Dieppe residents will have to boil their water until further notice.

City officials said Monday that there had been a water main break on Amirault Street.

“In order to allow for the repair work, the water service will be temporarily shut off,” the city said in a news release.

As a result of the water main break and water shut-off, a boil water order has been issued for the following areas:

  • 2135 and 2152 Amirault Street to city limits;
  • Dover Road;
  • Domaine Dover Estates;
  • Bayview Street;
  • Marco Street;
  • Freda Street;
  • Kristian Street;
  • J.F. Bourgeois Street;
  • Vézina Court;
  • Raphael Street;
  • Joanne Street;
  • Carter Street; and
  • 16 and 18 Léonide Street.

You can view a map of the affected area by clicking here.

All water destined for consumption needs to be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

That includes water used for drinking, preparing infant formulas and juices, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking and brushing teeth.

It is not necessary to boil water used for other household purposes such as bathing, showering, laundry or washing hands and dishes, but you should avoid swallowing the water when bathing or showering.

The boil water order will remain in place until further notice.
