150 new childcare spaces are coming to the Tri-Counties.
10 new spaces have already opened in Tusket, and 22 more are planned for an expansion to Wedgeport.
4 new spaces have been created in Shelburne, with 32 coming to an expanded King Street location.
3 family home agencies have added 10 new homes with space for 3-9 children at each spot.
In Church Point, 24 new spaces are planned, along with 10 more for Digby and 10 for Lockeport in the fall.
It’s about a $6.4 million investment from the province.
They say 24 before and after school spaces were added in the Tri-Counties last year, with planning for hundreds more across the province.
Argyle MLA Colton LeBlanc says as they make childcare more affordable, the demand grows, so they’re working hard to increase spaces.
