Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed the death of one person following a two vehicle collision south of Gull Bay Wednesday.

Police, Fire and Superior North EMS  responded to the incident a little after 11:00 a.m. when a passenger vehicle and tractor trailer unit collided on Highway 527.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased on team.

The collision forced the closure of the highway for several hours.

An investigation remains ongoing with members of the OPP’s Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and reconstructionists.
