Chamber looking at more events for members

The Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce is trying to offer more opportunities for it’s members to meet each other.

Chamber spokesperson Ella Vincent says over the summer they been holding a Lunch and Learn every month.

“Essentially it’s an opportunity for members to connect with one another and learn about everything we have going on, and all the different resources available locally,” explains Vincent.

“So we have four presentations by members, just a quick 10 little ten minute explanation, introducing what they offer.  What goods and services you can take advantage of.”

She says they had a good turn out at the first Lunch and Learn last month with about 20 members in attendance.

Vincent they also plan to have other events during the year.

“Hopefully one event for members to attend monthly.  So if it’s not a Lunch and Learn, may be an after hours mixer, or some sort of event where you can connect with your fellow members and learn about everything they have to offer.”

Vincent adds that they are also looking for a couple of new directors to fill out their board.
