The 17th annual Coal Shed Music Festival starts this Friday at 1 p.m.

The three-weekend event will see over 100 hours of music through the month of August.

Organizer Phil Demille says the Yarmouth waterfront will be buzzing with talent.

“It’s a wide variety of music. Everything from acoustic folk to country to blues, gospel and more. It’s the biggest variety we’ve had,” said DeMille.

He says there will be lots of new names and faces on stage as well.

They begin planning the event on January 1st of each year.

“We begin calling and emailing and kick things into high gear. We always want to make sure we put on a great show each year.”

There is no admission, but donations will be accepted for the School Breakfast Program.

DeMille thanks all the sponsors for making it possible.
