It was the first-ever Moncton International Street Painting Festival, and even with the rain, it was a huge success.

More than 12 artists showed off their artistry using chalk on Canada Street and in the Ian Fowler Oval.

Rain put a damper on things for Saturday, but thousands came out to view the artwork on Sunday and Monday.

Pieces included John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley.

The theme was the History of Rock and Roll.

Moncton International Street Painting Festival was held from August 5 to the 7th.
