Good news for those worried of an extended closure of the Chippewa Park Carousel.

Officials with the City of Thunder Bay say after the completion of repairs and an inspection, the attraction is ready to operate starting tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.

“The amusement rides, and especially the historic carousel, are a major draw for Chippewa Park,” said Cory Halvorsen, Manager of Parks & Open Spaces. “We are grateful that the damage to the carousel was limited and that we were able to repair it in time for our visitors to enjoy before the end of summer.”

Last Saturday the ride was damaged when a stolen vehicle collided with it, the incident resulted in charges against 2 city residents.

The Carousel will continue to operate for the rest of the summer, Wednesday to Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. until Labour Day.
