This weekend a taste of Italy returns to Thunder Bay for the 33rd Festa Italiana.
Covid-19 forced a toned down Festa for the past couple of years but spokesperson Matt Pascuzzo says its back to normal.
“With no restrictions we’re really looking back to the full scale Festa again. There’s obviously Italian food, Italian entertainment, local entertainment, children’s activities, and a chance for someone to win a trip to Italy.”
In the past Festa Italiana has seen more than 20 thousand people attend for the two day event.
When it comes to the food, the menu is vast with pasta, gnocci, meatballs and elephant ears, which is all thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers.
“I don’t envy the folks back in the kitchen who are working away all day.”
The event is also being used as a fundraiser through the trip to Italy draw, which will see all the proceeds go to the Hospital Foundation.
Festa Italiana takes place this Sunday and Monday.
