Another section of the Multi-Use Trail in Yarmouth has been completed.

Crews had been working on a stretch of Parade Street from Jody Shelley Drive to Haley Road.

Mayor Pam Mood says it’s nice to see the trails come together.

“This is huge for the whole active transportation trail. It’s fully accessible, and it helps people who don’t have a vehicle be able to get around. We’re really excited about this,” said Mood.

The trail opened early Tuesday night, the town says they still have some landscaping to complete.

Mayor Mood says they’ll continue to look at other areas.

“We’re finding that people are starting conversations on these trails. A lot of seniors are saying they’ve met new friends, people they didn’t even know lived in the area. There’s a safety component too for high school students walking to Starrs Road for lunch.”

Mood calls it ‘community building 101.’
