Two drunk drivers arrested; one during traffic jam from overturned cement truck

You might have been stuck in traffic Monday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. when police were dealing with an overturned cement truck at the Windsor Street Exchange.

It was at that scene when another driver, police say, approached them about another vehicle hitting theirs.

Officers say the driver of the suspect vehicle was allegedly intoxicated.

They say after a brief struggle, they were able to arrest the 51-year-old man. He appeared in court Tuesday, facing these charges:

-Driving a conveyance while impaired
-Operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg%
-Failure to stop at a collision
-Flight from peace officer
-Resisting arrest

Later Monday evening around 10 p.m., police say, another drunk driver was arrested after crashing into a parked vehicle on Raymoor Drive in Dartmouth.

The 27-year-old woman assaulted an officer while in custody and is now facing these charges:

-Driving a conveyance while impaired
-Driving while prohibited
-Resist arrest
-Assaulting a police officer
-Refusing to provide a breath sample

She is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
