A local golfer won a big tournament at Yarmouth Links.

Yarmouth’s Derek Boudreau is the 2023 Nova Scotia Men’s Mid-Master Champion.

He finished at 5-under, one stroke better than Jody Swim of the River Hills Golf Club.

Boudreau says it was special.

“Having a provincial tournament like that come to our home club, it meant a lot. I knew I had an opportunity that doesn’t come along everyday,” said Boudreau.

He will go onto Nationals in August.

Boudreau said he spent extra time preparing for the event.

“A big thanks to my wife, I told her I’d be spending lots of time on the golf course for prep. Also a big thanks goes out to my caddy who spent some time with me.”

He said it was great to see so many golfers come to Yarmouth for the tournament.

Before nationals, he’ll host the 16th annual Rick Boudreau Memorial Golf Tournament at Yarmouth Links August 12th and 13th.
