Province is now providing permanent virtual care

You’ll now be able to get virtual care in the province indefinitely.

Nova Scotia Health tried the free service for the first time this week and says it was so successful they are making it permanent.

It’s for minor ailments and is available to anyone who has a health card, email and valid device.

The service will be available weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and starting tomorrow on weekends from 8 a.m. to noon.

To access this virtual urgent care service, please call 1-833-413-0277 during the above times for initial screening and instructions for accessing virtual urgent care, or redirection instructions to the most appropriate level of care.

This service is for minor care needs such as:

Prescription refills or renewals (excluding prescriptions related to controlled substances)
Mild strains/sprains
Body aches
Mild headaches
Earaches
Sore throat
Minor infections
Skin and eye irritations
Mild asthma
Minor respiratory issues
Cough, flu, or cold symptoms
Fever
Nasal congestion and sinus infection
Nausea
Diarrhea with stable vitals
Bites and stings
Tick bites
Nail infection
Painless red eye
Eyelid redness or bump
Urinary tract infections
Mental health concerns
