The Rotary Peace Park is starting to take shape.

Work began last month on the pocket park across the street from Safeway.

Rotary says the Peace Park will include trees and shrubs, benches, lighting, seating areas, and a granite peace pole.

There will also be a monument to remember the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

The Peace Park is scheduled to have it’s grand opening on October 4th, which is the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
