In just under a month, one of the biggest fundraisers for the Alzheimer’s Society of Kenora-Rainy River will take place.

The Ride for Memories is a one day motorcycle ride around the region.

Manveer Kaur from the Alzheimer Society says it helps support a number of their programs.

“All the funds that we raise go towards our various programs that we have in the communities to serve our clients,” states Kaur.

“That includes our music project, our arts program, our social one-to-ones.  One more thing that’s coming up is Mindful Connections that we’re introducing at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.”

Kaur adds they’ve been getting a lot of inquiries about Ride For Memories already.

“We been receiving calls, emails, mail.  You know, people are curious.  People are donating, people want to know when, where does it begin, how do they connect.  It’ pretty popular.”

This year, Ride for Memories will take place on Saturday, August 19th.

This year riders will stop in Fort Frances for lunch and Dryden for supper.
