A 35 year old city man remains in custody and another man was sent to hospital after being stabbed early Thursday morning in the city’s north core.

Officers were dispatched to a Cumberland Street South address at 3:40 a.m. for the reported stabbing.

Upon arrival they learned both the victim and the accused were known to each other and were speaking to one another outside.

However, when the victim was leaving he was assaulted, sustaining injuries consistent with a stabbing.

Superior North EMS transported the victim to hospital for treatment, while the officers located the accused within 10 minutes of arrival, taking him into custody without incident.

He faces several charges:
• Assault with a Weapon
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2

He has since appeared in court and was remanded into custody.
