A big fine for a Cape Breton lobster fisher.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans ordered the individual to pay over $25,000 for violations.
They include fishing lobster traps without proper ID and making false statements to a fishery officer.
Their lobster and personal licences were suspended for the opening day of the 2024 lobster season.
DFO says you can always report any suspected illegal fishing activity to them.
