Document authentication now available in Northwest

By Adam Riley Jul 18, 2023 | 5:00 PM

The Ontario government has expanded services to authenticate documents to four ServiceOntario locations, including one here in the Northwest.

Public and Business Service Delivery Minister Kaleed Rasheed says prior to today, if you wanted to authenticate a birth certificate or diploma for international use, you would have to mail it to the province or physically attend an office in Toronto.

“Leaving millions of Ontarians at a disadvantage, by making them follow a tedious and outdated process that poorly reflects our government’s ability to deliver modern and easy to use services.”

The offices which are offering the services are in Ottawa, Windsor, Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay, at 113-435 James Street South.

Additionally before traveling to a location or mailing the documents to be authenticated, residents can use an online portal to ensure their documents are eligible for authentication.
