It turns out that you can’t return into Canada impaired.

On Friday evening a 25 year old resident of the Rainy River First Nation learned that lesson the hard way.

Canada Border agents notified the Rainy River OPP of a person trying to cross over, and appeared to be inebriated.

Police responded and arrested the driver.

His vehicle has been impounded for seven days and his driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days.
