Marathon murder suspect in custody

A 20 year old Marathon man has been charged with second degree murder following an early Saturday morning incident in that community.

Ontario Provincial Police responded just before 1:30 a.m. where one person, identified as 39 year old Charity Bittern-Moses, was located with life threatening injuries.

She was taken to hospital but pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains on going under the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the Forensic Identification Services in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place at a later date in Toronto.

The accused has been remanded into custody and is expected to appear in court on Thursday, while the investigation remains on going.
