The candidates seeking to be the new District 5 Commissioner for Koochiching County will take part in a candidate’s forum next week.

It will be at the Northome City Hall on July 19 at 6 p.m.

Four candidates are looking to replace Wayne Skoe, who passed away in February.

The four candidates are Dale E. Erickson from Birchdale, Rich Mastin from Big Falls, Dale Promersberger from Big Falls and Erika Stoltzman from Margie.

The candidates will answer questions related to the concerns and issues of District 5 residents.

District 5 is the County’s largest district, taking in a portion of the city of International Falls and the communities of Big Falls, Birchdale, Loman, Mizpah and Northome.

The primary will be on August 8, with the general election on November 7.

There are plans for a second candidates forum later in the fall.

The date for that has not yet been set.
