The Town of Yarmouth signing a new agreement on shared fire services with the municipality.

The units had been operating on an unwritten agreement the last 20 years.

Mayor Pam Mood says the arrangement worked well, but sometimes created minor issues.

“It formalizes the agreement, and clarifies roles and responsibilities, defines cost-sharing and aligns expectations,” said Mayor Mood.

She says the municipality has been a great partner and they look forward to the new 15-year agreement.

It allows the Yarmouth Fire Department to continue serving residents outside the town.
