Dozens of yachts will be racing toward the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron Tuesday, coming in from Marblehead Massachusetts, Boston.

For the first time after four years the 39th International Yacht Race will be back.

About 600 sailors in 73 yachts will compete against each other in the 365 nautical mile competition that takes place every other year.

The race begins in Marblehead, Massachusetts at the Boston Yacht Club and finishes at the Yacht Squadron in Halifax.

The race has been around for over 100 years when it started in 1905 and is the oldest International Yacht race in the world.

It is also believed to be the longest running offshore ocean race in the world and is considered one of the pre-eminent ocean races of the North Atlantic.

The race attracts sailors from all over North America.
