It may be getting easier for transit riders to purchase a bus ticket in Halifax.
The Halifax Regional Municipality has reached an agreement with payment app vendor Masabi to create a mole app for riders to use to purchase bus fare.
As of right now, buses in Halifax only accept cash and, drivers are unable to make change. If you don’t have cash on you, things get even more tricky, with many of the ticket booths located in inconvenient places.
The push for Halifax to adopt some sort of electronic or cashless payment system has intensified ever since another Maritime city rolled out their tap-enabled buses.
Sure, HRM doesn't have tap cards to pay for transit. But you can't expect Halifax to keep up with major Canadian cities like Toronto and <checks notes> Fredericton. https://t.co/H9cVZL1Vue
