RCMP arrested a Colchester County man for firearms offences after an incident in Cloverdale.
Officers responded to a report of a man pointing a firearm at another man near Hemlock Loop on July 1, at around 3:45 p.m. They learned that the victim was riding a Sea Doo on the Stewiacke River when another man near the riverbank yelling and pointing a rifle at him. The man ever shot the rifle and no one was injured.
Police found the suspect at a home on Hemlock Loop and safely arrested him. They seized rifles, shotguns, a pistol and ammunition after executing a search warrant on the home.
The 47-year-old Brookfield man, who was arrested, has since been released on conditions and will be facing charges of Pointing a Firearm, Careless Use of a Firearm and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm. The man will appear in Truro Provincial Court on August 30, 2023.
