Despite recent rain, water levels on Lake of the Woods continue to go down.

The Lake of the Woods Control Board says inflows to the lake from Rainy and Namakan Lakes have been rapidly dropping.

As a result, outflow from the Norman Dam will be reduced on Thursday.

The Control Board adds that more outflow reductions may be planned in the days ahead.

With the reduction, water levels below the Norman Dam are expected to drop 15 centimeters and 9 centimeters at the Dalles.
