The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce has a call out for performers.

Quest for the Best returns to the stage at the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship next month.

Chamber Director Heather Johnson says twenty contestants will vie for a variety of cash awards.

“So ten contestants, the first set, ten contestants, the second set. The winner of each of those sets will then do a fight song that will determine the overall winner. There are monetary prizes. There are ten of them for all the different categories,” says Johnson.

All will perform with The Faculty backing them up.

“They are so good working with all of our contestants,” says Johnson.

Last year’s winner was Jaykob Ryll. He will be back to perform a couple of songs with the band during the intermission.

Registration is through the Chamber’s website. The event is open to anyone.

“It gives the band all the information they need as to what song you’re doing. Is it an original version? What key? Do you want backup? All the questions that the band needs to be answered.”

Tickets are now on sale.

They can be obtained from Causeway Insurance and the Window and Door Store.

The Chamber is bringing back its VIP section. Tickets in this area gives purchasers some extra perks and a front-row seat.
