Information session for Culinary Skills on Tuesday

By Tim Davidson Jun 26, 2023 | 6:19 PM

Seven Generations Education Institute is once again offering it’s Culinary Skills program in Kenora.

This year, the Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce is helping out to fill the program.

Chamber spokesperson Ella Vincent says they will be holding an information session on Tuesday morning.

“Restaurant owners, other business owners, or anyone who is willing and able to sponsor this program is invited to the information session,” says Vincent.

“Basically this session is going to give everyone the information they need to know about how we can strengthen our restaurant industry in Kenora and how we can invest in students.”

Vincent adds they are looking for businesses that can pay the tuition for the students in the Culinary Skills program.

“This info session will basically give employers all the information they need about program length…how it will work.  Essentially students will be in school full time, but also working in restaurants as part of their weekly course work. And in turn the restaurant will be paying for their tuition, which is about $4,000 for the one year diploma.”

The information session will take place at 10:30 at Seven Generations followed by lunch.

The Culinary Skills program will start up again in September.
