HRP investigate robbery

Police in Halifax are investigating after a man robbed a gas station on Bayers Road early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the robbery at around 6:38 a.m. They say a man broke into the gas station by smashing the glass of a locked door with a blunt object. He then demanded cash and cigarettes from the staff.

Non one was injured, and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

Police describe the suspect as white man in his thirties with a tattoo on his right upper cheek. They say he is roughly 5’9 tall, with a thin build. He was wearing blue overalls with reflective stripes and a gray Carhartt sweatshirt. He was last seen fleeing on foot carrying a green reusable bag.
