Province gives option to add health information to doctor waitlist

The province is making it easier to get you right type of healthcare.

If you’re on the Need a Family Practice Registry, you’ll be able to add health information to your profile.

Health Minister Michelle Thompson says this can help Nova Scotians the right care, at the right time by the right provider.

“As our population continues to grow, and it is growing quickly, the demand for healthcare grows with it. To make sure people have the right care when and where they need it, it means making changes,” said Thompson.

You don’t have to add the information, but you’ll be given the option when contacted.

Family doctors that take 50 patients with higher needs from the registry will receive $10,000, and another $200 for each additional patient.

There are over 148-thousand people on the registry.
