Two of the newest members of the Thunder Bay Police Services Board now lead the body.

The Board announced today Karen Machado and Denise Baxter have been appointed Chair and Vice Chair respectively, effective July 1st.

Machado was appointed to the Board in January by the province while Thunder Bay city council selected Baxter as its civilian appointment.

A release from the Board notes both Machado and Baxter were on the committee which selected Darcy Fleury as the new Chief of the Thunder Bay Police Service earlier this year.

However, their appointments does not change the situation with having Administrator Malcolm Mercer continue to be the lone vote on Board matters.
