More than $10,000 in donations through charity events and close partnerships with businesses have improved care for youth at the Sister Margaret Smith Centre.
Part of the donation includes $5000 worth of furniture from Dufresne, which Youth Services Supervisor Amber Scavarelli says makes a world of a difference to a former classroom setting.
“Really warm the space with lighting and the carpet, it makes all the difference in the world to be in an environment where you feel that intimacy to be able to share and do your therapy in a group setting.”
Scavelli calls the support from the community “overwhelming”.
Charity events which provided donations include the Play for Purpose Golf Tournament and the Vanska Hockey Tournament.
