Saint John police have arrested a man in multiple break-in, theft and mischief investigations.

Officers were called Thursday morning to a report of damage to a business on Fairville Boulevard.

It is believed that the damage happened sometime overnight, according to investigators.

Around 5:15 a.m. Friday, police got a call about a man sleeping on an ATV in a Rothesay Avenue parking lot.

“Officers arrived and confirmed that the new ATV was registered to the same business on Fairville Boulevard,” police said in a news release.

Investigators also discovered that the same business had been broken into sometime after closing on Thursday.

The man on the ATV was arrested for break, enter and theft in connection with the incident, as well as another break-in and theft of tools and construction materials from a Union Street business in early June.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Friday, police received a report that a Ford F-150 truck had been stolen overnight from another business on Fairville Boulevard.

“As a result of further investigation, the same suspect was arrested in connection with this theft and the vehicle was recovered by police,” said the police release.

A 39-year-old man is charged with two counts of break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, mischief, and four counts of probation violation.

He was remanded to jail and is scheduled to return to court for a bail hearing on Monday.
