Residents looking to beat the heat can rejoice now that three of the city’s splash parks are open effective today.

Pads at Northwood, County Park and the Waterfront will open up at 11:00 a.m. each day and close at 8:00 p.m., except for the Waterfront pad, which will be open until 8:30 p.m.

“The opening of the splash pads is a sign that summer is here,” says Parks and Open Spaces Manager Cory Halvorsen. “Each structure is unique and we encourage the public to enjoy all the various splash pads located around the city.”

Next Friday pads in Franklin Street Park and at the North End Community Centre will be opened.

Pads are expected stay open until early September, however the city says that will all be dependent on the weather.
