The City of Kenora says Titan Contractors has been selected for the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre parking lot and boat launch project and have produced a plan for work this summer.

Concerns were made over the impact to boaters the $1.6 million project, which gets underway starting July 4th, would have.

Now during most of the construction the boat launches and day use parking spots will be open to a minimum of 30 spots which will be sectioned off and shifted as work progresses.

However water main work will cause the launches to be closed from August 14th to September 1st.

The city released its plan online Saturday morning and notes it will keep the launches open during the July and August long weekends and have minimal impact on fishing tournaments.
