Two armed robberies within minutes in Moncton

Codiac RCMP are seeking a suspect after a reported robbery at a financial institution in downtown Moncton.

Police responded to a call at St. George and Cornhill Streets around 10:15 a.m. Monday.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Thierry Malenfant says a man was believed to have a firearm and he got away with an amount of cash.

No one was hurt.

Meantime around 10:30 a.m., officers were called to a liquor store near Mountain Road and Killam Drive after a report that liquor had been stolen.

Staff Sergeant Melanfant says the suspect was believed to be carrying a firearm.

About an hour later, police arrested a 17-year-old at a nearby location and he is currently in custody at the detachment.
