Bridgewater Police Investigate Robbery and Assault in the South End

Bridgewater, NS – The Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) is currently conducting an investigation into a robbery and assault incident that took place in the south end of the community in the early hours of Saturday, June 10, 2023.

According to the police report, a 17-year-old male was attacked by four individuals wearing bandanas. The assailants not only physically assaulted the victim but also took personal belongings from him during the incident.

Following the assault, the victim was promptly taken to South Shore Regional Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries. Subsequently, he was released from the hospital.

Law enforcement officials have made progress in their investigation and have apprehended two young males who are believed to be connected to the incident. The first male has been charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear at Bridgewater Provincial Court on July 26, 2023, for a plea hearing. The second male has been charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm, and wearing a disguise with intent. He will also appear at Bridgewater Provincial Court on the same date for his plea hearing.

Despite the arrest of these individuals, the Bridgewater Police are actively searching for additional suspects involved in the case. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are determined to bring all responsible parties to justice.
